Spring: Cordyceps, Damiana, & Bacopa

In this Spring Plant Study, we are going over 3 plants that are associated with the 3 astrological signs in spring. In the class, we will touch on each plant's actions, energetics, and planetary association. We're leaning on the guidance of sky and earth to help us deepen our understanding of these plants.

Plants we'll be going over: 𖦹 Cordyceps • Aries • Mars

This fungi helps us activate and engage our willpower, which is what Aries and the planet Mars embody. Traditionally, we see cordyceps being utilized to support stamina, endurance, and sexual energy. It has an affinity for the immune and cardiovascular systems in regulating inflammation and blood flow.

𖦹 Damiana • Taurus • Venus

Warming and pungent, Damiana invites us to reconnect with the pleasure in our lives. It tends to our nervous system, both relaxing and igniting. Damiania uplifts and calms the mind and body, increases blood flow to the uterus, and supports menstrual flow. We also see this plant being an ally for pain. We’ll be going over the subtle connections between damiana, Taurus season, and its ruling planet venus.

𖦹 Bacopa • Gemini • Mercury

Bocopa, also known as Brahmi, is linked to the Hindu god Brahma, which in whole means “bringing knowledge of the supreme reality”. This plant is an ally for improving mental performance, mood, memory, and supporting the nervous system. It has both calming and toning effects on our nervous systems while enhancing cognitive function. Supporting the air qualities of Gemini and supporting Mercury's affinity to communication.
